M6 Golf Clubs - New for 2019

2019 is off to a flying start with TaylorMade's new M6 golf clubs proving that speed is relative. These M6 metalwoods, along with the new M5 offer an unparalleled build quality and stringent level of quality control and are set to set the industry ablaze with incredible speed. The M family has been steadily improving since the initial first graced the brand's offering and along the way it has been refined and redesigned to keep up with the demands of the game. The M6 includes some of the familiar yet revolutionary technology as its predecessor but offers a whole new dimension thanks to some clever additions and refinements.

M6 TWIST FACE™ Technology

When it first appeared on the scene in 2018 the as yet unheard of TWIST FACE™ technology created a huge buzz with plenty of detractors that have since been proven wrong. This latest incarnation of the face shape goes one step further with the inclusion of algorithmically guided deployment of resin behind the face. This allows for a thinner, hotter, more forgiving face than has ever been possible before.

The New 2019 TaylorMade M6 Driver

The 2019 M6 Driver (also available in D-Type) has the same Injected Twist Face treatment as the M6 Driver giving it a speed advantage over the competition. In a move that takes their quality control procedure into the stratosphere TaylorMade now individually speed test every driver head and inject it with tuning resin to so that the variability between each club head is the minimum it possibly can be. This level of attention to detail is absolutely unheard of in most industries let alone in golf. Hit the high toe or the low heel and the Twist Face will work to correct the ball flight giving you more consistent straighter drives. With a multilayer carbon composite crown on top the M6 driver now sports a carbon fibre sole which has saved a huge amount of weight. This weight saving has also given the engineers the freedom to create a more aerodynamic shape with the mass trimmed from the sole being placed in the new Inertia Generator which is set low and back to increase forgiveness and lower the center of gravity.

The 2019 M6 Fairway Wood

Bringing the TWIST FACE™ technology that served the previous drivers so well to the new M6 fairway wood seems like an obvious choice but it had to be done in such a way as to preserve the performance of the club. Fortunately the engineers found a way to achieve this and it has given rise to an incredibly explosive fairway wood that is still just as playable as expected from a TaylorMade wood. The newly improved speed pocket looks familiar but has been improved to keep turf drag to the absolute minimum by including a TPU insert into the speed pocket resulting in the same speed boosting effect without the risk of picking up chunks of the course.

The center of gravity position in the M6 fairway wood has been moved just behind the center of the club face to give a higher degree of energy transfer over the previous M4. This combination of low Center of gravity and increased energy transfer makes for higher launch without sacrificing MOI. These two factors when combined with a taller face and larger crown means the M6 fairway is one of the most confidence inspiring options TaylorMade have ever dreamt up.

The M6 Rescue is New for 2019

Unlike the M5 range there is an M6 rescue club available. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the new 2019 M6 rescue (hybrid) club is the use of the same Twist Face seen on the driver and fairway woods. Getting the geometry right was crucial to making this technology work on such a small club face, however, the result was a very pronounced curve that altered the appearance of the club quite drastically. In order to mitigate this effect the club face is two-tone which masks the curvature and maintains confidence. Unlike the larger clubs the M6 hybrid has a steel body but does feature the same TPU slot insert that turf-proofs the speed pocket.
